this showed up on my dash and as soon as i started reading I recognized each of these from my childhood/worse in teen years with my father. And like, he’s been gone for 5? 6? years from my life at this point and I’ve done so much healing and growing and learning but this post lit up the little ghosts of younger me’s and validated every. single. one of them.
Its crazy how even when you’ve come so far from being in that abuse, things I forgot along the way pop right up and then float away, finally addressed, remembered and released. this was cathartic as hell. and even though I’ve already pretty much made peace with myself over the terrible wrongs he did me, this still made me feel so heard. So many notes and all of those digits represent people who know the truth like I do, probably lots of whom were told for so long that they were understanding things incorrectly, or they must be mistaken, or ‘if you don’t get hit its not abuse’, like I was. Thank you so much. Wow.#tw abuse
